Successful Conduct of 2nd Study Circle Meeting on Income-tax Act, 2025 – Season 2 The Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI successfully conducted the 2nd Study Circle Meeting on the Income-tax Act, 2025 – Season 2 on 28th January 2026 at ICAI Bhavan, Mahendra Arcade, Mangaluru. The session was handled by CA Malavika Kamath, who comprehensively deliberated on Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, covering important aspects relating to charge of income, scope of total income, and residential status. The presentation was well-structured and enabled participants to gain clarity on the foundational provisions of the new Act. 77th Republic Day Celebrations – Successful Completion The Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI proudly celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on 26th January 2026 at ICAI Bhawan, Padil, Mangaluru, in a spirit of patriotism, unity, and professional pride. The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the welcome address by the Branch Chairman. The celebration was graced by CA Naveen N, Past Chairman of Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI, who kindly consented to be the Chief Guest for the occasion. In his address, he highlighted the values enshrined in the Constitution of India and emphasized the role of Chartered Accountants in nation building, ethical practice, and public trust. As part of the celebrations, the Branch felicitated the newly qualified Chartered Accountants, acknowledging their hard work and dedication, and also awarded scholarships to ICAI examination toppers, encouraging academic excellence among students. The event witnessed the presence and participation of members, students, and invitees, making the celebration meaningful and memorable. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Secretary. Successful Commencement of Study Circle Meetings on Income-tax Act, 2025 The Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI successfully commenced the Study Circle Meetings on the Income-tax Act, 2025 on 21st January 2026 at ICAI Bhavan, Mahendra Arcade, Mangaluru. This initiative marks an important academic milestone as members prepare for the transition from the Income-tax Act, 1961 to the newly introduced Income-tax Act, 2025. The inaugural session witnessed encouraging participation from members, reflecting the keen interest of the fraternity in understanding and adapting to the new tax regime. The first session was conducted by CA Sriram V Rao, who lucidly explained the structure of sections and transition provisions under the Income-tax Act, 2025. The session was highly interactive and provided participants with a strong conceptual foundation, setting the tone for the forthcoming sessions. The Branch is honoured that CA Madhukar Hiregange, Chairman – Committee for Members in Practice, ICAI and CA Dayaniwas Sharma, Chairman – Digital Accounting and Assurance Board, ICAI, have graciously agreed to be the Chief Guests for this academic initiative, further underscoring the significance of the program. It is envisaged that a minimum of 20 focused sessions will be required to comprehensively cover the provisions of the new Act. Upon completion of the Study Circle Meetings, the Branch also proposes to organise two full-day seminars by experienced resource persons to provide deeper insights and practical perspectives. Members are encouraged to continue participating actively in this structured learning journey, aimed at enabling the profession to confidently navigate the new Income-tax framework. Successful Completion of Students and Members Interaction Session with CCM The Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI, jointly with the Mangaluru Branch of SICASA of ICAI, successfully conducted a Students and Members Interaction Session with Central Council Member CA Madhukar N. Hiregange on 20th January at ICAI Bhawan, Padil. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and members and was highly enriching. CA Madhukar N. Hiregange addressed the gathering on the importance of self-confidence in the journey of a Chartered Accountant, sharing valuable insights on exam preparation, handling pressure, mindset development, and professional growth. His practical guidance and motivational approach deeply resonated with the students and inspired them to approach examinations and the profession with clarity and confidence. The Branch expresses its sincere gratitude to CA Madhukar N. Hiregange for sparing his valuable time and sharing his wisdom, and to all the participants for making the session interactive and successful.

We are pleased to inform you that the Oratory and Debate Competition was held today at MA Arcade under the aegis of Professional Skill Enrichment Board. The Oratory and Debate Competition was held at Mahindra Arcade under the aegis of Professional Skill Enrichment Board. CA Vrinda Konnar was declared the winner in the Oratory category, and CA Rashmi emerged as the winner in the Debate category. Among the two winners, CA Vrinda Konnar secured the highest score and has therefore qualified to represent our branch at the Regional Level. We extend our sincere thanks to CA M. N. Pai and CA Nagaraj Sharma for judging the event.

Career Counselling Programme at Sharadha PU College, Mangalore As part of its continued student outreach and career guidance initiatives, the Mangalore Branch of SIRC of ICAI successfully conducted a Career Counselling Programme at Sharadha PU College, Mangalore, on 10th January 2026. The session was conducted by CA. Ramya Rao and CA. Vinayak Pai K, who provided valuable insights into the Chartered Accountancy course, career opportunities in the profession, and the skills required to succeed in the evolving professional landscape. The counsellors engaged actively with students, addressing their queries and motivating them to explore the CA profession with clarity and confidence. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who found the session informative, interactive, and inspiring. The guidance offered helped students gain a clearer understanding of career pathways in accountancy and finance. The Branch places on record its special appreciation to CA. Sudhir Shenoy for his efforts in coordinating and ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme. With this programme, the Mangalore Branch has successfully completed 12 Career Counselling Programmes across various colleges over the past one year, reaffirming its commitment towards nurturing future professionals and spreading awareness about the Chartered Accountancy profession. Ind AS Study Circle Series – Session 1 Successfully Commenced The Mangalore Branch of SIRC of ICAI successfully commenced the Ind AS Study Circle Series – Session 1 on 8th January 2026 at ICAI Bhawan, Kodialbail, Mangalore, marking a strong and impactful beginning to the series. The inaugural session was delivered by CA. Faiz Mohammad, who conducted an insightful and well-structured presentation covering key topics including Applicability of Ind AS, Ind AS 2 – Inventories, and Ind AS 7 – Statement of Cash Flows. The session focused on conceptual clarity as well as practical considerations, enabling participants to better understand the implementation aspects of Ind AS in real-life scenarios.
